Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited (NIE Networks), as part of its ongoing commitment to improving the quality of asset and work recording, is updating its enterprise asset management and mobile solution for its electrical network.

Peacock Engineering has been awarded the contract to upgrade its Maximo system from 6.2 to 7.6 and to provide a mobile solution that moves away from their current implementation of Syclo to Fingertip (deployed on an IBM Worklight enterprise platform), providing new and enriched functionality.  The Fingertip contract also includes five year’s support and service.

“We are pleased to be working with NIE Networks on its upgrade and new mobile solution,” Mike Knapp, Director at Peacock Engineering said.  “NIE Networks seeks to continually improve process and IT relating to asset stewardship and its work programme management, and the Maximo upgrade and move to Fingertip supports this objective.  The current NIE Networks Maximo system contains some customisations which we will carry forward into the new system, as well as implementing additional functional improvements.  We have also worked closely with NIE Networks to develop a strategy to mitigate project risks and to make the overall user experience move seamless.”
