From the identification of the strategic drivers for maintenance, through development of maintenance strategies, business process definition and the formulation of key performance indicators, Peacock Engineering are committed to ensuring that the implementation of maintenance management systems is driven by the business need and not by the software.
Over the last 15 years, the consulting team at Peacock Engineering have amassed over 100 man-years of systems implementation experience from which a proven and trusted process-driven methodology has emerged. With the methodology in place, the Peacock team have been challenging themselves to improve delivery efficiency and provide affordable solutions, using a mix of services and systems provisioning models, to meet a broad range of industry verticals.
There are countless examples of asset and service management systems in operation where the implementation team will proudly boast "delivered on-time and to-budget"; but which are actually contributing very little value to the business within which they have been implemented. Our experience is that this is often because the implementation has focused entirely on the technology and the software capability. The implementation team may well have been blessed with PRINCE2 project managers and certified software developers, but without a clear understanding of "why the business does what it does" these implementations have failed to provide real process support and improvement management capability that the businesses were looking for. Do not misunderstand this message ... competent project management and systems implementation resources are essential to any successful implementation – they do not however define the success. |
